Ask a
dozen photographers to explain what it takes to make a good photograph,
and you'll receive at least a dozen answers: a great subject,
vivid colors, dynamic composition, bold patterns, subtle lighting
and on and on. Landscapes, wildlife, people and all the places
and things we encounter can be excellent subjects for a photographer.
Good cooks
can take a pinch of this and a drop or two of that, and with imagination,
skill and hard work, serve up something extraordinary. Photography,
like fine cooking, is much more than the sum of its ingredients.
